What is vedic maths?

Ø  Vedic mathematics is ancient system of Indian mathematics ,which help in calculations simpler and faster

Ø  This  technique of calculations is simple. Simple principles and rules help in solving any  mathematical problem mentally of any branch ( arithmetic, algebra, geometry or trigonometry) .

Why Vedic Mathematics is ?

Vedic Mathematics is becoming popular all over the world as It helps to solve problems 10-15 times faster , reduces burden (Need to learn tables up to nine only), provides one line answer save student’s time in competition exams and  increases his concentration.
Methods for Iinstant calculations:

Ø  All from 9 and the last  from 10 to perform substractions.

 e.g.1000-557=443               

VERTICALLY AND CROSSWISE to write the answer straight down for fractions

=  1    +     2

=       5+6

          15

                                =       11

Multiply crosswise & add to get the numerator, & multiply the denominators to get the denominator.

Quick  way to square numbers that end 5 =>BY ONE MORE THAN THE ONE BEFORE.

     Step First ;                  

       i)The first number (7)multiplied by the number”one more”,which is 8;

     Step Two ;

      ii)Is always25;

Method for multiplying numbers where the first figures are the same and the last figures add up to 10.

e.g. 32 x 38

   ( 3 x 4)

32 x 38  =      12              16

   ( 2 x 8)

Step one 

multiply first fig with one more then the no 

i)We multiply 3x4=12;

Step Two

ii)We multiply the last figures;

Multiplying a number by 11.

e.g.   36 x 11 = 396 ; 26 x 11=286;77x11=847;

i)we put the total of the 2-figures between the 2-figures;

Multiplying by 12-19 shortcut

Ø  e.g.; 13 x 17 = 221

i)We multiply the 1(of13)by the number we’re multiplying =>1x17=17;

ii)Then => 17x10=170;

iii)Multiply the 3x17=51;

iv)Add 170 +51=221;

12 X17 = 204

i)We multiply the 1(of12)by the number we’re multiplying =>1x17=17;

ii)Then => 17x10=170;

iii)Multiply the 2x17=34;

iv)Add 170 +34=204;

Adding time

A simple way to add hours and minutes together:

Ø  Let's add 1 hr and 35 minutes and 3 hr 55 minutes together.

Step First

i)135+355=490

Step Two

ii) No matter what the hours and minutes are, just add the 40 time constant to the sub total.

=>490+40=530 (finaly 5h.30min)

Convertion Kilos to pounds

Ø  How to convert Kilos to Pounds, & Vice Versa?

Ø  Cconverting Kilos to pounds:

e.g.86 kilos into pounds:

step one

i)Multiply the kilos by 2;

=>86x2=172;

Step two

ii)Divide the answer by 10;

172/10=17.2;

Step Three

Add the answers of step i) and ii)   =  172+ 17.2 =189.2;

86kilos=189.2pounds

Temperature conversions

 This is a shortcut to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius and Vice Versa;

Ø  e.g.64°F=?°C

First Step :    Sub 30 from given tem reading

64F-30=34;

Second step :  divide the figure got in first step

             ii)   34/2=17 °C;

64 Fahrenheit=17Celsius

Converting Kilometres to Miles

useful method for converting  kilometers to miles are;

Step first :

Formula=> number of (km / 8 ) X 5

e.g.40 km into miles;

 =>(40/8)x5=25 miles
